The year 2020 marked the transition into a unique season for Hong Kong. Political temperatures have risen since then, driving out native “Hong Kongers” and foreign-born residents. Hopelessness looms on the horizon with political and economic uncertainty.
But God…
We believe God has flung open the door to the Good News during this unique season in Hong Kong.
In May 2023...
We visited with a small but faithful group of Christians at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Yuen Long, Hong Kong. Two weeks later, they asked Ben to lead their church.
What an incredible setup we've been given to spread the Gospel in Yuen Long! While the church can't fully support a pastor, they're a group of 30 solid believers with a heart ready and eager to reach their city.
OUR OBJECTIVE
to lead Lighthouse Baptist Church in personal spiritual growth through discipleship, partnering together to spread the Gospel,
to operate weekly outreach programs in Yuen Long,
to prayerfully accept opportunities to train future leadership for Lighthouse and new church plants in both Hong Kong and mainland China.
for such a time...
While access is increasingly restricted to foreigners, China's mainland is available to Chinese. We believe that as we pray, God will call workers to the uttermost parts of China.
Ben's background in Asia, his language abilities, and our family's ministry experience have prepared us for "such a time as this".
